What Is A Holistic Therapist?
A Holistic Therapist is qualified in providing a range of treatments, specifically selected according to the client’s needs, giving them a sense of health and well-being.
By this definition a therapist is considering the “whole”client as a complex human when selecting the appropriate treatment for them. Therefore a “holistic therapist” may practise a variety of therapies but it is the approach to the treatment that is important.
How Do I Know Which Practitioner To Choose?
As there are few regulations in place for complementary practitioners, choosing the right therapist can be difficult. Always look for the letters after the practitioner’s name, such as FHT Reg’d , IIHHT and find out what they mean. Ask the practitioner about their training experience. A professional therapist will be more than happy to tell you about their background. If you are unsure, contact the awarding body for the therapist in question and check that the practitioner is registered
